| York College learners graduated at a ceremony at the Theatre Royal (7th July). Learners graduated in subjects ranging from Construction Studies and Computing to Sports Therapy, Fashion and Health Administration, with an audience of family and friends looking on.
After an opening address by college principal, Dr Alison Birkinshaw, there was a keynote speech by Baroness Estelle Morris of Yardley, former Secretary of State for Education & Skills. Learners were presented with their certificates and a vote of thanks was given by John Short, Chairman of the Governors at York College. Music was provided by York College students.
Bob Saynor, Assistant Principal for Lifelong Learning and Higher Education said: " York College is committed to widely celebrate student success. These Higher Education students deserve our congratulations alongside all our other students at the college. The college will continue to respond to local demand for part-time, flexible higher education provision to meet the local and regional skills agenda." |
