Askham Bryan College offers specialist courses in Horticulture, Environmental Studies, Animal Management and Veterinary Nursing. It is the fastest growing land based college in the country. An ongoing capital project of £10 million will result in new buildings and educational facilities, including a leading-edge Wildlife and Conservation Park facility at the College’s main campus, which is just four miles south of York’s city centre.
Since 1963, the University of York has powered to a consistent top ranking in the UK and is one of just a few post-war universities to make the World Top 100. A member of the elite Russell Group of universities, it is a dynamic, research-intensive university with over 30 academic departments and research centres. The University is investing £750m in campus developments, including new colleges, teaching and learning space, laboratories, research facilities and a new sport village.
With a vibrant student community and state-of-the-art learning environment, York College provides an extensive range of higher education programmes which are vocational and employment-related. The College also offers an international foundation programme, developed in partnership with the University of York, for students who have completed high school education in their home countries but do not have the right level of qualification to enter UK universities directly. It has been recognised as one of the leading Colleges in the country after it was judged ‘Outstanding’ by national inspection body Ofsted in December 2013.
York St John University is an outstanding university, known for its academic excellence and responsive nature, as well as a magnificent campus based in the centre of the historic city of York. The University has a strong reputation for its sense of community and student satisfaction. Recent campus investment of over £100m provides an excellent student experience and a fantastic range of well-located accommodation. York St John has been providing education and training since 1841.
