Degree students inspired by international artists

Coca_workshopWEB1York College 3D Design Craft degree students attended a talk by artists Susan Halls and Anthony Shaw in collaboration with the Centre of Ceramic Arts (CoCA) in York’s Art Gallery, followed by a master class by Susan Halls in the York College art workshops.

Currently based in the USA, Susan Halls' work is collected internationally. The students were inspired by her work, as well as her interest in their own work, much of which will be on display in their degree show at York St John University in June 2016.

Coca_workshopWEB2Ed Poxon, Course Leader for the Contemporary 3D Crafts degree at York College said: “The opportunity for students to work with collections and artists of international standing is remarkable and I would like to thank Helen Walsh and Gaby Lees at CoCA for organising such a fantastic event”

Gaby Lees from the York Museum Trust said: “It is wonderful that York Art Gallery’s partnership with York College has allowed us to offer such an enriching experience for our visitors.”
